Venom: An absolute hit

Are we ever going to get bored by superhero movies based on Marvel comics? The answer seems rather obvious by the release of Venom, the 2019 spin-off film based on the marvel character Spider-man. Directed by Ruben Fleischer and produced by Marvel studios, this box-office hit was shot in San Francisco with an outstanding cast including Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, and Riz Ahmed.

The story begins when a probe belonging to a bio engineering corporation Life Foundation discovers a comet filled with symbiotic life forms which needs a host to survive. Eddie Brock (played by Tom Hardy), an investigating journalist, reads about the innocent human trials the scientists are using for their experiment in a confidential document with the help of co-worker and his fiancée Anne. He sets out to confront with the foundation CEO, causing both Brock and Anne losing their jobs and eventually ending their relationship. Eddie breaks into the research centre to find evidence only to get merged with a symbiotic alien with lethal abilities. He found himself ruled and instructed by a force named Venom. And they both embark on the mission to escape from the vicious scientists.

While Tom Hardy’s Dual performance as Eddie and Venom deserves overwhelming credit, the supporting characters were no short of perfection. The director was obviously aware of the one thing I was expecting from the iconic, brutal character: good action scenes. Particularly the car crash scene dramatized with state-of-the-art slow-motion technology was stupendous, not to mention the striking special effects adding up to the film’s mammoth awe-factor.

Overall, the movie was an absolute hit. If you are in search for a complete bundle of action-packed tragedies with witty characters, this movie is not to be missed!
