Report 1

Introduction

This reports purports to highlight the knowledge gained from our recent school trip to the Colosseum, and suggest how future undertakings could be enriched for the upcoming year.

Knowledge gained

Our visit, which was aimed at obtaining critical information about the magnificent history of the Colosseum, provided us with valuable insights into related knowledge. Almost all students were captivated to witness the innovative construction strategies firsthand. We were given the opportunity to learn about how the Romans constructed the amphitheater in such a way that it could hold over more than fifty thousand spectators with an uninterrupted view to enjoy gladiatorial contests and mock sea battles. Furthermore, it was exploring the major ruins such as the Temple of Saturn and the Temple of Vesta, where the sacred fire was kept, that offered impeccable lessons on the fusion of state and religion.

Shortcomings and recommendations

Upon reflection, I firmly believe that future undertakings of this nature could be greatly improved if the shortcomings of the trip were addressed. Firstly, the majority of participants expressed dissatisfaction with the limited time frame. It is therefore recommended that the school management extend the duration of such trips to allow students to explore the historical site more thoroughly and appreciate its significance.

Moreover, several students found the information presented somewhat mundane due to the unengaging itinerary. Introducing hands-on activities with the guidance of an experienced archaeologist could make the experience more interactive and spark greater enthusiasm among students.

Conclusion

In conclusion, our visit to the Colosseum was an unforgettable educational journey that provided us with a profound understanding of the ancient Roman Empire.

Report 2

Introduction

This report purports to highlight the invaluable knowledge we gained from our recent visit to the Pyramids of Giza, and to suggest effective measures for making future visits more informative

Key Learnings

Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by the curator, who wasted no time in giving us a brief tour of the pyramids. During the tour, we learned that many common beliefs about the pyramids are based on myths rather than historical evidence. One such misconception is the idea of Cleopatra’s chamber. We discovered that Cleopatra did not have a chamber within the pyramids, as the pharaohs had their burial chambers in other pyramids.

Moreover, we also learned that the Egyptians used simple tools to construct the pyramids, such as levelling instruments and stone hammers, which were used to cut and shape the massive stones. They also used levers and ropes to lift the stones and position them in place which was something we found quite unbelievable.

Shortcomings and recommendations

Upon reflection, there was a clear consensus among students that implementing certain measures could enhance future trips. Firstly, to address the issue of time constraints, some students suggested allocating more time in future visits to allow for a more relaxed exploration. Additionally, it was unanimously agreed that the tour would have been more informative if an experienced and knowledgeable guide had been hired, allowing students to gain deeper insights about the history of pyramids.

Conclusion

Overall, it was an enlightening experience that provided us with valuable insights into the history of the pyramids in Giza.

Introduction

This report aims to outline the key learnings from our recent visit to the Great Pyramid of Giza and to propose ways in which future school trips could be further enhanced.

Key Learnings

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the tour guide, who gave us a brief explanation about the pyramid. Everyone unanimously agreed that it was fascinating to discover how such a monumental structure was built over 4,600 years ago without modern tools and equipment such as power saws and trucks. We also learned that the construction of the pyramid required over two million limestone and granite blocks, each weighing around 80 tons. Furthermore, almost every student agreed that they were captivated by the fact that the interior chambers of the pyramid were kept at a constant 20°C, despite the intense desert climate.

Shortcomings and Recommendations

Upon reflection, there was a general consensus that certain measures should be taken to enhance similar future trips. Firstly, the vast majority of students were displeased with the limited time available; therefore, the school should allocate more time for future visits to allow students to explore the chambers of the Great Pyramid of Giza more thoroughly. Moreover, several students raised concerns that the information provided was rather dull. Thus, appointing a more knowledgeable and engaging guide for future trips is strongly recommended.

Conclusion

All in all, the visit provided us with valuable insights into the Great Pyramid of Giza and the marvellous engineering behind it.
