Italian food oozes rich flavour, and no restaurant does it quite like Lazio. Nestled in the heart of Barcelona, Lazio is a top-notch restaurant which offers delightful Italian cuisines. I stopped by there with a friend of mine for dinner on a cosy Saturday night and with the first footsteps, I got enthralled by the explosion of aromas chasing me.
After studying the menu that goes on and on, we decided to go for two lasagnas. Just after mere minutes we had ordered, our eyes were greeted with two colourful lasagnas plated like artworks. The warm smell from the dishes took my breath away. Loaded with parmesan cheese and layered with fresh vegetables, minced lamb and zesty sauce, this lasagna was nothing short of perfection. I could not help, but lick the creamy sauce on the plate with my fingers until I completely devoured it all. And dessert was a heavenly tiramisu dusted with an even layer of cocoa. It had a heavily soaked sponge and a neatly piped mascarpone cheese topping that melted dreamily in my mouth. (Yummy!)
Besides the deliciously tempting food, what I admired most was the magnificent setting. From the clean and spacious dining space furnished with strings of starry lights to the enormous windows showcasing the heart-stopping views of the city with twinkling lights, these features definitely brought the wow factor, making the experience a notch higher. Better still was the staff; they provided a service which is balanced between professionalism and showing care, without being overbearing.
If you revel in exploring quintessential Italian cuisine, Lazio is your way to go. Miss it and, you will without a doubt regret it!
